Flower filled barriers can act as natural social distancing markers

With the UK’s pubs and restaurants slowly opening, businesses are coming up with innovative ways of ensuring social distancing measures while retaining a relaxed and attractive atmosphere for visitors.

Normally companies contribute towards wider civic budgets in order to benefit from planters and hanging baskets for their own premises, which gives them a commercial edge as well as contributing to the wider ambience of the town centre. However with the tides changing and with businesses having to adapt, pubs and restaurant chains are getting onboard with their own floral displays in order to boost the aesthetic appeal of their premises.

Floral barriers provide natural gaps between outdoor diners and the pavement and create attractive zones in which to queue while customers are waiting to get in. They also make businesses stand out from other eateries and create a pleasant vibe in the wider town centre. With the use of our customisable branded planter surrounds you are also able to create planters with your own messaging and branding.

Numerous studies have demonstrated the positive impact of nature and flowers on emotional well being. And as people begin to venture out onto the high street and test out the new style dining and drinking experience, boosting their morale is even more important.

Town clerks have voiced their praise for Plantscape’s displays. One town enjoying a flower filled summer is Coalville, which is filled with 70 hanging and barrier baskets and nearly three dozen dramatic flower towers.

Horticultural development officer for North West Leicestershire District Council, Rosie Biggs, who was behind the plan to fill the town with booms, has this to say.

“Floral displays are a great way to enhance the town landscape for both residents and visitors. The visual impact of flowers can lift the mood and have a positive impact on people’s health and well being. Spending time outdoors in a greener environment can reduce stress levels and anxiety. We hope that by installing flower towers and flower beds within the town it is part of the recovery process, as we work together in supporting our community in these difficult times.”

It’s not too late to get your floral displays ordered for this year, you could plan ahead and take advantage of one of Planstcape’s new autumn and winter ranges.
