How to Make Your Local Area Jubilee Ready

With less than a month to go until the United Kingdom celebrates the Queen’s Platinium Jubilee in honour of the 70 years she has spent as the country’s monarch, it is time to start preparing your local area to make sure it is Jubilee ready! With an extended four-day bank holiday ahead, many cities and towns are looking to spruce up their public displays to commemorate this special event.

Many villages, towns and cities are planning patriotic blue, red and white displays, here are some plants you could consider to create the perfect Jubilee floral display.

  • Red Pelargoniums can create a bushy display with bright red flowers.
  • Red or white Begonias work well with smaller planters creating a soft array of colours.
  • Blue Salvias can bring height to your display and work best as a central feature of your planter.
  • Blue Irises work well in small displays while they don’t bring much height, they provide your planter with vibrant blue colour.
