Plantscape towns celebrate In Bloom awards

Towns using Plantscape’s services celebrated a rash of In Bloom awards this summer.

The market town of Beverley, named last year by the Sunday Times as one of the best places to live in Northern England, won a hattrick of Golds – for the overall Large Town Category, the Yorkshire Rose and Best Town in Yorkshire – in its first year of enjoying Plantscape’s dazzling array of hanging baskets!

Town clerk Helen Watson described the displays as ‘stunning.’

Beverley estate agent Mike Quick said: ”Without doubt these are the very best hanging baskets we have ever had. Whether we’ve sold any more houses because of them I can’t tell you, but I hope the residents of Beverley have enjoyed them as much as we have !!”

Gill Pickford, owner of the Monks Walk in Beverley added: “The Monks Walk hanging baskets welcome our customers with an abundance of bright coloured flowers. It’s fantastic being part of Beverley in Bloom.”

Fellow Yorkshire town market Malton won Gold and Best Small Town, and its barrier baskets were described as ‘the best in Yorkshire.’

Meanwhile in Wales, Prestatyn won a Gold award, thanks to the 120 or so hanging and barrier baskets and towers of amazing blooms designed, planted and watered by Plantscape.

In the East Midlands, Loughborough won a Gold award along with a best in category, while in the greater Birmingham area, Acocks Green earned Gold, with Solihull’s Dickens Heath winning a Silver Gilt.

Dickens Heath Parish Council Helen Marczak said: “This year’s hanging baskets are the best we’ve ever seen.”

Oakham in Rutland also won a Silver Gilt and Syston in Leicestershire a Silver.
