While we bask in the final throes of our balmy summer, the reality is that it’ll soon be time to put on a cardi and even take an umbrella with you on trips round town.
But to offset the promise of drizzle and grey skies, colourful events are around the corner.
Like it or loathe it the world will be bathed in a synthetic orange glow as small children dressed as pumpkins skip merrily through suburbia and plastic severed hands dripping with polyurethane blood adorn the shop windows.
Then we have the multi coloured illuminations celebrating Guy Fawkes’ attempt on the Houses of Parliament.
At Plantscape we can add even more joy and colour to your neighbourhood throughout the autumn, winter and spring, with a combination of our winter planting displays and our energy and hassle saving solar powered Christmas trees.
Planters and baskets can be filled with hardy primrose and pansy, spring bulbs including snowdrops, daffodils, tulips, iris and hyacinth. Foliage plants can include conifers, euonymus and ivy while herbs such as bay, sage and rosemary add scent as well as visual contrast.
Dozens of councils across the country are thrilled with our non-summertime services which can save thousands of pounds and attract visitors to spend money in the town!
Even in traditionally non-sunny locations the trees will light up for five hours.
Andrew Spence, chief executive of Oban Business Improvement District in Scotland, BID4Oban, explained: “They help us to light up streets where we haven’t got the infrastructure for traditional decorations and where we couldn’t afford lights.”
Clerk to Hatton Parish Council in Derbyshire Jacqui Storer said: “The speed and efficiency of making the application to erect the lights and of testing the lamp posts was great. The village has never had Christmas lights before and the feedback was exceptional. The Parish Council was impressed as the whole installation went without incident. The process was simple, speedy and without fuss, making it stress free.”
