Native Wildflower Mix

Have a question not covered here?

Native Wildflowers for Native Wildlife:

These plants have been alongside us for hundreds and even thousands of years and have adapted to grow in our climate. They have been lost at a tremendous rate since the 1930’s with only 3% of our wildflower meadows remaining.

The Native Wildflower range is available from mid-May to the end of June and features a carefully selected blend of plants and flowers that complement each other, creating a vibrant, welcoming display while enhancing biodiversity in hard-to-reach urban spaces.

Our Native Wildflower Mix is ideal for pathway planters, flower tower bases, and metre square bases. Each comes equipped with Plantscape’s eco-friendly 7-day watering systems, designed to save water, time, and money.

Why Plant Native Wildflowers?

These wildflowers have grown alongside us for centuries, perfectly adapted to our climate, yet we’ve lost 97% of our meadows since the 1930s.

Our native bumble bees, butterflies, moths, hoverflies, beetles and many other insects have evolved in tandem with our native plants. These plants can provide the supplies to allow them to thrive once again, which in turn supports the mammals and birds which rely on them for food.

Many birds and small mammals rely directly on the plants themselves to supply seeds and vegetation to eat. Native plants support the greatest number of insect species at a time when our native pollinators have been decreasing at a rapid rate, over a third lost between 1980 and 2013. These insects are also essential for our well-being to pollinate our crops so these flowering plants need their place in our lives.

In these planters you will see a variety of native plants that support the necessary biodiversity to help our countryside thrive. They flower at different times throughout the spring, summer and autumn to provide a continuous supply of food. There is some information below on each of the species and the latin names are included to help anyone who would like to know more about them.

We’ve carefully selected a diverse mix of UK native wildflowers, from early bloomers like bugle to late-season favourites like devil’s-bit scabious,  to provide a continuous source of nectar and pollen from spring through to autumn.

Each species was chosen for its value to pollinators, from bumblebees and butterflies to beetles and moths, as well as its ability to thrive in UK conditions.

These wildflowers not only support a wide variety of insects, but also enrich the habitats that birds and other wildlife depend on.

Whether it’s the bold pink of red campion, the cheerful yellow of common bird’s-foot trefoil, or the high-nectar blooms of rough hawkbit, our mix creates a beautiful, biodiverse display that benefits nature with every bloom.

What Our Clients Had to Say:

“Ripley Town Council is thrilled to be embarking on yet another 3-year contract with Plantscape. Our floral displays have always received many lovely comments from members of our community. Today, we have started the week with the 2025 displays having appeared in our town overnight.

They are spectacular! The splash of colour is amazing and the fragrance from the flowers is divine. The bees are already enjoying them which is vital for pollination. The floral towers are stopping people in their tracks, as they pausing to take photos of them. Mat and his team always provide a great service for which the residents of the Ripley Township are sincerely thankful for.”
